Here is the men's version of style number 2. This one is the '20s version of the el cheapo: nickel case, but still 15 jewels. I react badly to nickel. It seems that whoever bought this watch did, too. Also, note to self: never engrave a nickel watch! You'd think they'd have known that in the '20s too...

It runs for a short while.

It has such an elegance to it: if only it were in gold...

A fine style! This one has a broken mainspring. I also have the men's version of style number 1 (705/1), which doesn't resemble this watch at all.

I checked the plates and the numbers match. This is a factory original.

Characteristic of V2:
- Marked Precision in diamond (!!!)
- Adjusted to "All Positions", marked on balance cock
- Moustache pallet fork
- Does not use banking pins
- Uses the V2 click and associated bridges

Characteristic of V3.5:
- Standard balance, not chronometer
- Serial number (!!!)

Characteristic of both:
- Can be Swiss stem set
- 19 jewels
- Can be marked Suisse
- Jewels in gold chaton settings

Characteristic of neither:
- Simple regulator (V3.5 would have a swan regulator and V2 would have a reverse swan regulator)
- Plate/balance jewel setting cut out exposes the banking plates & pallet fork (the edges are nickel plated, so it was done during the manufacturing process)

Anyone care to suggest a name?

Quadron service box

Description
Two-tone hinged wooden box. The lid is covered in dark red fake leather with an Art-Deco style gold embossed emblem. The main body of the box is covered in brown fake leather material with gold printed borders.
Inside the lid has off-white silk, showing text “Gruen Quadron”, the Gruen crest and “17 Jewels PRECISION”
The insert holding the watch is missing and I also have no idea what it should look like. Please add a picture if anybody has the info. I can then get creative like Jenneke and try to reproduce it Laughing

Gruen Strap 277

/vgforum/index.php?t=getfile&id=7436&private=0 This was my grandfathers watch, a gift from the early 1930s, I think. Works great! I have not been able to find anything out about this watch. Inside the case there are some clues...two sets of stamped numbers...91 and 6048761. The rest of the info on the case looks to be hand engraved. At the top is MK 11-1 n(I think) then the initials JB. Then D22101....44261P....D14422...D17382....D18811...D20636. On the movement is the following...Seven7 Jewels...Unadjusted...F S Conoruma....Hrspg & Bal.....Guild Watch Switzerland.

If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks.
