Hi Jenneke,

Thanks for the suggestions! Regarding the strap, I’m planning to have a custom pigskin strap made. My wrist is quite thin, and standard straps are usually much too long for me. I’m still on the hunt for an original buckle to complete the look, but they are proving hard to find。

As for the dial, I’m hesitant to clean it myself as I’m afraid of causing irreversible damage. I’ll likely either leave it in its original state or send it to a professional for restoration later on.

To answer your question about other brands—yes, I have quite a collection! I own several vintage Walthams, Hamiltons, and Bulova. As for Gruen, I have two or three more that I’ll be sharing on the forum soon, though I’m still trying to identify the specific model names for a few of them.
